Board Members

Greg Rodgers - President

Greg was a reluctant tennis player initially. He had to be talked out of dropping the first tennis class he took. Now he is passionate about the game. This MTA summer clinic graduate is a PTR Certified as an “Instructor” in 4 different pathways (10 & Under, 11-17, Performance &
Adult Development). He is also certified as a “Coach” by the ITI (International Coaches Institute) in the Spanish Tennis Style. In additions to serving as President, Greg is
one of the coaches of the summer clinic.

Carol Howard - Vice President

Carol came to the game of tennis late, but she came with a vengeance. She has played on various USTA and Chicago Park District teams for over two decades. She has previously served as Maywood Tennis Association’s secretary, president and tournament director.

Jean Edwards - Secretary

Jean is a lifelong tennis fan and player. She has been a member of the Maywood Tennis Association since 2006. In addition to working on the Fundraising Committee, she is active with the administration of the Summer Clinic and Junior Tournament. She has been the secretary for the organization since 2015.

Donald Edwards-Clinic Director

I have been an avid tennis player for the last 50 years and a participant with the Maywood Tennis Association for the past 30 years.  Currently, I am the chairperson of the after-school and Summer Clinic Programs.  I also founded and operate the Extended Program for clinic players who exhibit promise and show enthusiasm for the game.

Daryl Thompson - Treasurer

Daryl has been a member of MTA for over 10 years. This Detroit native is an avid tennis player and enjoys the competition the game brings to his fitness routine. He has served MTA as treasurer, secretary and summer clinic “iceman” during his tenure. By day he is a computer engineer.

Marv Cohen - Sponsorship Chairperson

Tennis has been Marv’s passion since age 14 when
he was ranked #1 in the Boys and Juniors in his
hometown of Milwaukee.  He was #1 in high school, the at the University of Wisconsin. His lifelong love
of the game brought him to pass on his knowledge
to others. Although his profession has been as a
clinical psychologist, over the years he continued to
play tournaments and reached a ranking of #19 in the
65's nationally. His involvement with the MTA
enables him to pass on his passion and knowledge
of tennis to children "who might otherwise not have
such an opportunity to learn and excel at the
greatest sport I know.”
